A warm welcome to Jason Hay
The Specsavers’ audiology team - based in the Ryde and Newport stores - are thrilled to announce Jason Hay as an addition to their audiology team.
Jason's expertise is already renowned on the Isle of Wight with over 20 years’ experience in the audiology industry and has been a fully qualified audiologist for the last 10 years.
He has also worked for both the NHS and private sectors and is now thrilled to extend his experience further with Specsavers, the leading opticans and audiologists on the high street.
Looking forward to meeting new faces
Jason said: 'It's an exciting time to join the Specsavers team. I've admired them from afar over the years, and I look forward to meeting new faces - and seeing some customers from my past roles - here at the stores in Ryde and Newport where I will split my time.
'One of the great advantages of joining a successful business like Specsavers is the breadth and depth of their audiology range. This includes rechargeable hearing aids and iphone compatible hearing aids.
'This particular innovation takes away the worry of changing batteries in hearing aids every few day - a welcome relief for those that struggle with dexterity issues.'
Here to help
Jason added: 'Did you know that it can take up to 10 years for someone to acknowledge their hearing loss? The team here at Specsavers urges those aged 55 and over to have their hearing check once a year. It's simple and quick process, and we are always on-hand to answer any questions you may have.'
New service - ear wax removal
Jason is thrilled to join at a time when a new service debuts. He said: 'We will be providing the professional removal of excess ear wax that can, in some cases, cause discomfort or difficulty hearing. We can now do this very quickly, safely and gently, unblocking the ear canal using a wax microsuction technique – making it ideal for those who do not favour the syringe approach.
'Another great thing with doing this procedure in our stores is the fact it that it takes away the need for a customer to see their GP and relieve a bit of the pressure on the NHS.'
Ear wax removal costs £35 per ear or £70 for both ears.
