At Specsavers, it’s not just healthy eyes that we’re passionate about but healthy ears too. The Felixstowe store has recently enhanced its audiology facility, including services for Sudbury, and now offers a full hearing service courtesy of the audiology team – but who are they?
Meet the team
The team is led by Westly Fox, HAD (Hearing Aid Dispenser) director, with support from HAD trainees Raksha Bhoola and Shirley Du Plessis.
Westly started with Specsavers in 2007 as a retail manager. He received his HAD degree in 2014 and became director of the Felixstowe and Sudbury audiology stores in November 2016.
Fun fact: Westly loves technology and builds computers as a hobby.
Raksha is a pre-registration hearing aid audiologist. She has worked in the industry for almost two years and feels very passionate about what she can offer to the growing industry.
Fun fact: Raksha was once in the naval cadets!
Shirley Du Plessis
Shirley qualified as a hearing care assistant in 2010 and decided to take a HAD degree last year. She loves working with the elderly and hard of hearing and changing their lives for the better.
Fun fact: Shirley danced in a Dirty Dancing competition in 2007 for Living TV and won second place!
So next time you’re in store for an eye test, why not have a hearing check with us at the same time? It’s free and only takes around three minutes. And if you need to arrange a full hearing test, that’s free too.
We take great joy in watching the positive impact hearing aids make on people’s lives and how they become part of the Specsavers family.
