As a result of the money raised from the recent Paws for Coffee event in store, the Specsavers Hearing Centre in Cheltenham are now sponsoring a puppy who is training to become a hearing dog.

The Cockapoo puppy, called Juno, is confident and will make an excellent hearing dog because she is very sociable and loves everyone. To find out more about Juno please click here

'Overwhlemed by support'

‘We were overwhelmed by the generous support that came from our coffee fundraiser,’ said hearcare director Amanda Ellis. ‘Our local community came together and helped us sponsor Juno. Once fully trained, she will have an immeasurable impact on the life of someone suffering from hearing loss so we’re thrilled to have been able to help.’

Supporting Hearing Dogs Week

Members of staff embraced their inner-bakers during Hearing Dogs Week (25 September to 1 October) and sold dog-themed cakes and other sweet treats. There were also hot drinks on offer for customers to enjoy in return for charitable donations. The Paws for Coffee event resulted in the team raising more than £100 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

10-year partnership

Hearing Dogs and Specsavers have enjoyed a 10-year partnership which has helped to transform the lives of thousands of deaf people. No other form of hearing loss assistance has such a life-transforming effect on a deaf person’s life as a hearing dog.

Their unique combination of practical help and invaluable companionship is completely life changing, restoring confidence, independence, self-esteem and most importantly a sense of improved overall well being. To find out more about the charity, please click here
