Sparklers at the ready in Tring
Tring Specsavers is among some of the businesses in town getting ready for the Festival of Fire which is celebrating 50 years with another spectacular show.
The store is one of the sponsors behind the huge community event – and will be handing out high-vis vests among other goodies to little ones from their stall on the night.
The firey event
The event, on Saturday 8 November, kicks off around 5pm and the festival will take place at the Tring Park Cricket Club.
Food and drink stalls will be available to keep tummies filled, while spectators can look forward to live music from local bands (Blind Summit, In General and The Reverie), a display of 300 fireworks and a rocket launch finale.
A word from the director
Director of the Specsavers store in Tring, Divya Kukadia said: ‘We are so pleased to be a part of this great celebration of the community.
We know a huge amount of effort has gone into the night and we can’t wait to celebrate with both new and familiar faces down at the Tring Park Cricket Club.
We will have some high-vis vests for children aged 7 to 11 on-hand to give away to keep kids well-lit during the evening.’
The event organisers
Simon Shearman, chairman of Tring Park Cricket Club (the event organisers), said: ‘A lot of work has gone into the night and we want to remind families to get their tickets because it’s going to be quite the show.
Everyone involved is very excited for the evening - what better way to celebrate Guy Fawkes Night than as a community with local bands, sponsors and residents coming together as one.’
All proceeds from the event go to sustaining the clubhouse and grounds, which play a huge part in the community by supporting cricket, hockey, tennis and football, to name a few.
Tickets can be purchased from the Akeman, Sterling Estate Agents, Tring Brewery, Beechwood Fine Foods or from behind the bar at The Cricket Club. Advanced family tickets are priced at £13 which admits two adults and three children under 16.
