The team at Specsavers Slough put veterans charity Blind Veterans UK in the frame when they hosted a fundraising drive as part of Armed Forces Week.

Support for an amazing cause

A major supporter of the charity, store staff raised £300 by donating £1 from every eye exam carried out during the week-long event. John Duminy, store director at Specsavers Slough, said: ‘Armed Forces Week is a fantastic way for us to show our support to our forces. We’ve partnered with Blind Veterans UK this year. It’s an amazing cause which provides crucial support to those who have either lost or damaged their sight while representing our country in the armed forces.'

Thanking the community

John continued: ‘We received tremendous support from customers and other businesses throughout the campaign. From everyone in store, we’d like to say a huge thank you to the local community who helped support our fundraising. The money we’ve been able to raise through the initiative will allow the charity to continue giving back to those veterans who have given so much for us.’
