The gruelling Rauceby Ripper race on Saturday 6 February marked the start of an exciting new sponsorship deal between Specsavers in Sleaford and the Sleaford Striders running club.
The Specsavers store is the new sponsor of the popular Sleaford Striders, and is proud to have their name associated with such a well established running club as they compete in the Specsavers Adult Race Series.
The nine-mile multi-terrain Rauceby Ripper is the first challenge in the Specsavers Adult Race Series, which will see members of the Sleaford Striders club taking part in a number of races, ranging from 5km to half marathons, throughout the year.
James Coleman, store director, said; ‘We’re thrilled to be supporting the Striders, they’re a fantastic club and we hope the sponsorship will help their members to smash their goals this year.’
Sleaford Striders’ Chairman, Bill Rayner, agreed; ‘We’re very fortunate to have the backing of a local business like Specsavers and can’t wait to kick off the new race series with the Ripper in our newly branded race vests – although it might get pretty dirty given the weather!’
