Specsavers in Arnold will be arranging a host of activities throughout October to raise money for the Saving Lives Helipad Appeal.
The store has pledged to donate £1 for every sight test carried out in October. Staff will also hold a non-uniform day where they will make a donation in exchange for dressing down. There will also be a children’s colouring competition, with fantastic prizes up for grabs.
‘One of our customers was involved in a farming accident and the air ambulance saved his life, so we are really proud to be supporting the Helipad Appeal throughout October,’ said Mark Kranich, store director. ‘Having seen the team’s incredible work first-hand, we hope to raise lots of money to support their life-saving work across Nottinghamshire.’
The Saving Lives Helipad Appeal was launched by Nottingham Hospitals Charity with the aim of raising £3 million to build an on-site helipad at the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre. Having an on-site helipad will ensure patients with serious injuries will be transported to the Emergency Department as quickly as possible, giving them the best chance of survival.
