Skelmersdale fundraising for Macmillan hits sweet spot
The Specsavers team in Skelmersdale is delighted to announce that the Coffee Morning they held raised £233.50 for Macmillan Cancer Support with the help of customers and local people.
World's Biggest Coffee Morning
The team joined in with the nation-wide fundraising initiative, and baked cakes and sweet treats for everyone to enjoy in a bid to help raise as much money as possible for the cause. Last year alone, the same campaign raised more than £25m for the charity which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for indviduals and families facing cancer.
Store director Sully Patel says: 'We're delighted that our community came together to help such a worthy cause - and enjoyed some sweet treats in the process! It wouldn't have been possible without the generosity of our customers and even passers-by who popped in to support our efforts.'
'It goes to show how much of a positive impact we can have as a community when we all come together to support each other. Unfortunately most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer or received help from Macmillan, and we know what a great help the charity is when you need them most.’
