Shoppers at Belfast Victoria Square Specsavers are being reminded to support Red Nose Day on Friday 24th March with the installation of giant replica Comic Relief glasses on the front of the store.

Spectacle Wearer of the Year and Victoria Square customer Derek Dubery joined Jenna McCormick, optical assistant at the Belfast store to raise awareness of Red Nose Day and the giant red specs which are in place until 6th March.

Funds raised go straight to Comic Relief

Red Nose Day glasses – in adult and children’s sizes- are available in the store and cost £2, with all the money raised going straight to Comic Relief.

‘It’s fabulous having our giant Red Nose Day specs and we’ve had a great reaction from Victoria Square customers and passers-by.’ said store director Neal Kerr.

‘We are encouraging everyone who buys a pair of Red Nose Day glasses to also join in on a giant Mexican wave on social media as well. All you need to do is strike a pose with your specs and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your own wave back.’

Staff have great fun raising ‘Red Nose’ cash

In addition to customers buying Red Nose day specs, staff at Victoria Square Specsavers are undertaking a huge range of activities to raise additional cash for Comic Relief. Every Friday is Comic Relief T-shirt day and staff also took a day and everyone dressed in red and gave a special donation.

Other Comic Relief events include a customer selfie competition with two lucky people winning Love to Shop vouchers and a 500 mile staff static cycle challenge in store.
