Hello spring, hello hayfever
With the change of season and increase in pollen, many people have already started their combat against hayfever. As 1 in 4 people in the UK are affected by hayfever symtoms*, Specsavers Leeds, Crown Point, is offering expert advice on how to take the best care of your eyes this spring.
If you wear glasses or contact lenses
Allergies can prove to be particularly annoying to contact lens and specticle wearers due to symptoms including itchy, burning and swelling eyes. If you wear glasses, it is recommended to try a wraparound version to help to keep pollen away from your eyes. For contact lens wearers, it is advised to switch to daily disposables to combat itching, but if this fails, it is also suggested to try wraparound specs during the hayfever season.
From the Store Director
Mark Richardson at Leeds Specsavers, comments: “Hayfever and allergies can often be dismissed as a trivial problem. This shouldn’t be the case, allergies can not only disturb sleep, they also affect concentration and cause people to miss school or work.
“We want our local residents to know that we are on hand to help this hayfever season. I would urge anyone seeking advice to visit us here at Leeds Specsavers and we will do our very best to assist them.”
