Two opticians have their sights set on safety for people in the community with free giveaways of high visibility vests and ice scrapers in store.

Specsavers in Airdrie and Coatbridge have pledged to help youngsters stay safer and be seen when walking near busy roads by offering all kids that visit the store a free high visibility vest. These reflective tops can be really useful for walking to and from school or group trips as pedestrians will be more visible to drivers.

The local opticians also have a batch of ice scrapers available for customers which can come in handy to drivers on frosty mornings or nights.

Keeping everyone safer

Andrew McGonagle, store director at Specsavers Airdrie and Coatbridge, said: 'Supporting the local community is very important to us at Specsavers and by offering free high visibility vests and ice scrapers to customers, it’s a small gesture to keep everyone safer on their travels.

'We’re more than happy to accommodate a bulk donation to groups too – visit your local store and a member of our team will be able to assist you.' Branded high visibility vests and ice scrapers are available on a first come first served basis from both Specsavers stores on Graham Street, Airdrie and Main Street, Coatbridge.
