Eyecare specialists at Specsavers in Rutherglen are encouraging locals to take care of their eyes and ensure their health checks are up to date as Autumn begins.

Darker nights are beginning to creep in and the team in Rutherglen hope that people will get their eyes checked in order to stay safe this season, especially while driving at night.

A word of advice from the store director

Peter Beaton, store director at Specsavers Rutherglen, said: ‘It’s important to look after your eyes all year round and ahead of the darker nights is the ideal time to check your prescription is up to date.

‘We encourage customers to have their eyes checked at least once every two years, as eye tests can detect underlying health issues as well as changes in your vision. Keeping up to date with health checks is so important, and eye tests are a vital part of this.’
