Specsavers' clinical assistant from Royton came away with three silver medals after representing Great Britain in the swimming at the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games.
Eighteen year old Jessica Fullalove previously competed at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and continued her success in the pool as part of the largest squad for a single sport at Nanjing 2014.
Facing stiff competition at only the second ever Summer Youth Olympic Games, Jessica certainly made a splash securing a hat-trick of silver medals in the 100m backstroke final, 4x100m medley relay and the 50m backstroke.
Jessica said: ‘All the hard work has paid off, I am so proud to have won three silvers competing against the very best young athletes. The Commonwealths have given me a good platform to work from.
It has been a great experience and I have learnt so much, I hope this will stand me in good stead for future competitions.’
She added: ‘It’s been a long season, but the games have been really enjoyable and something I will never forget.’ Jessica was one of over 5,000 athletes competing in 201 events in Nanjing, China.'
