Specsavers in Rothwell has used its fifth store anniversary to raise money for the Guide Dogs Association.

Specsavers staff presented the charity with a cheque for £150 after the celebrations, having sold homemade birthday cake and cupcakes throughout the day.

The guests of honour were Guide Dog pups-in-training Jimmy and Jeeves. The six-month old Labrador pups spent the day in store and posed for photographs with shoppers.

Mandip Rehal, store director at Rothwell Specsavers comments: “We are thrilled to have made this donation to the Guide Dogs Association and to have made a contribution towards their life-changing work with blind and partially-sighted people.

“Eventually we hope to raise enough money in store to be able to name our own Guide Dog puppy.”
