An optician from Specsavers is set to embark on a gruelling 2,900 km cross-channel bike ride from the town centre to Europe and Israel in aid of multiple charities.

Vital funds

Kevan Green, ophthalmic director at Specsavers has set himself the challenge to coincide with his 30th year in store, to raise vital funds for Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), cancer charity Myeloma UK and Laniado Hospital in Israel.

Full support

Setting off from Specsavers Romford on Tuesday 30 June, Kevan will have the full support from his team of 25 as he gears up for his first hurdle to Folkestone.

Worthwhile charities

Kevan says: ‘I have always wanted to undertake a challenge which will test my physical strength and endurance and what better way than to mark my 30th year with Specsavers than test my limits and raise as much money as I can for three worthwhile charities.

Support

‘I have strong personal connections with all of the charities I am raising money for and urge customers and local residents to donate what they can to help support the invaluable work they undertake.’
