Specsavers Glenrothes supporting Road Safety Week
Optical assistant Megan helped raise awareness of the importance of eye tests for road safety

An optical assistant from Specsavers Glenrothes helped raise awareness of the importance of eye tests for road safety by leafleting and gifting goodie bags to passers-by.

Megan Gartshore set up a small stall in Lyon Square in the Kingdom Shopping Centre with Specsavers’ shoppers filled with lens cleaning cloths, sample bottles of glasses cleaner, a Specsavers bug, key ring and leaflets.

A legal requirement

Megan said: ‘Our stall was very popular on the day as I handed out over 100 bags. It was a great way to speak to people in the local community and raise awareness of how important good eye health is to road safety.

‘A regular eye examination is a legal requirement for drivers but it is your personal responsibility to ensure you are having your eyes tested frequently.’
