Going the egg-stra mile for Home Start
Specsavers on Oxford Street in Ripley are appealing to the local community to donate Easter eggs to support charity Home Start.
The store has seen 30 eggs donated so far, with the gesture allowing disadvantaged families to enjoy a sense of normality and bonding time over the Easter period.
A sense of normality for disadvantaged children
‘Home Start is a fantastic cause helping local families, and we wanted to do something that would make a difference – however small,’ explained store director Kuldip Dosanj.
‘Ensuring a child has an Easter egg to wake up to might not seem like much, but it makes a difference to the children that need it. The support so far has been great, and we’re hoping this will continue in the build up to Easter. We’re asking people to give what they can to help families in our local town, and thank them for their support.’
Home Start help parents provide the best beginnings they can for their children, supporting 30,000 families nationwide. They rely on volunteers, and are committed to helping families access services, hosting groups and home visits to provide families with every chance they can to succeed.
Brighten a child's day
As part of their mission, they provide home support for families that are faced with challenges such as bereavements and disabilities, or new births in the family.
With the offer of a single egg donation, you can brighten a child’s day. If you would like to donate an egg, please drop in to the store.
