Ribbon is cut at Glasgow Fort
The new Specsavers store in Glasgow Fort, one of Scotland’s biggest shopping and leisure centres, was officially opened last weekend by John Perkins.
He said: ‘It was an honour and a privilege to attend the opening. Hayley-Jo Whitney, the Zumba instructor from our TV ad, was also there as a special guest – and she led a mass dance of hundreds of shopping centre visitors who were all ready “to shake what their mothers gave them”.
‘The star of the show was store director of Glasgow Fort, David Quigley, who took centre stage with Hayley-Jo, and cheered on by the delighted audience, put on the most impressive display of “dad dancing” Scotland has seen for many a year. ‘Thanks for a great day, and the best of luck to David and his co-directors Arlene Stephenson, Sarah Freel and Cat Pinkerton.’
A great addition to Glasgow
The new store, which has created 20 new jobs in the area, offers six test rooms, a dedicated contact lens department, a dedicated in-store hearing centre with soundproof booth and the full iHarmony experience.
David Quigley, store director for Glasgow Fort and a number of other Scottish stores, said: ‘We’re delighted to be adding to the Specsavers offering in Glasgow by launching the new Glasgow Fort store.
‘We’re committed to providing the residents of the city with the best optical service around and – with the addition of our hearcare team – we have one of the strongest offerings in the area when it comes to optical and hearing services.’
