Meet Redhill's Dementia Friends

Colleagues who are proud to be Dementia Friends at Specsavers in Redhill are Chloe, Toslima and Laurence.

Proud to be Dementia Friends

The three colleagues join thousands of Specsavers employees nationwide who are completing their Dementia awareness training programmes. The end result is accredit them with Dementia Friend status – meaning they wear a badge that makes them instantly recognised as a Dementia Friends to all Redhill customers.

Says Prashant Patel, store director

‘This training means a lot to me and our customers. It is a very positive accolade for a colleague to have and helps us improve our customer service.

‘Chloe, Toslima and Laurence have completed online training that helps them develop the necessary skills to assist our customers living with dementia. It offers positive and practical advice, and how dementia can impact one’s senses including sight and hearing. At the end of the training, there is an increased empathy too for the challenges some customers may face going about their daily lives.’
