Giving the gift of vision
Specsavers Brunswick has collected 700 pairs of glasses over the past 6 months for the charity Vision Aid Overseas.
The team also laid on a spread of baked treats for customers, raising over £100 in the process.
Store manager of Specsavers Brunswick, Becky Allardyce, said: ‘Specsavers has a long-standing relationship with VAO and all our store staff strongly believe in the work that they do in the six developing countries they support in Africa. Our in-store bake sale was a way of encouraging residents to donate to the charity whilst indulging in our tasty treats’.
Eye care outreach clinics
Since 2003 Specsavers stores across the UK have collected and recycled more than a quarter of a million glasses and collected hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity. Customer donations and the recycled glasses make a substantial contribution to opening eye care outreach clinics. The store will continue with its donations to VAO.
