As part of the town’s celebrations of diversity and inclusion for its LGBTQI citizens, local opticians and hearing experts from Specsavers stores in Reading showed solidarity for their queer community.
Team members donned rainbow coloured clothing on Sunday 1 August and took to the streets with rainbow flags in hand, to cheer along with the crowds and of course the impressive floats of the parade.
Taking pride in supporting the community
Retails director of both Specsavers stores in Reading, Don Watts, says: ‘We take pride in supporting our local community and that means everyone – regardless of race, religion, gender, age or sexual orientation. It was fantastic to see so many other people support the simple notion that love is love.’
Since its inception in 2004 and the addition of the parade in 2007, Reading Pride has reached a staggering attendance of over 10,000 participants across its events.
