West Bridgford youngsters are in for a treat on Friday 18 November when a Specsavers will hold a lucky dip competition to raise much-needed funds for national charity, Children in Need.
Members of staff are encouraging customers and passers-by to take part in the fundraising day, where younger visitors will be in with a chance of winning numerous prizes from the store’s lucky dip in exchange for a donation to the charity.
Making a difference
‘Children in Need is a fantastic organisation and one that we’re delighted to be supporting this year,’ said store director, Stephen Rogers. ‘Our fundraising day is a great opportunity to raise essential funds and make a difference in the lives of children across the country.’
The team will also swap their usual uniforms in favour of Pudsey ears and outfits to raise awareness of the appeal and boost fundraising totals further.
Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity and every penny raised goes towards helping disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
The charity provides support in the form of grants to organisations working with children who may have experienced mental, physical or sensory disabilities, behavioural or psychological disorders, are living in poverty or situations of deprivation, or are suffering through distress, abuse or neglect.
