Opticians calls for children’s toys
Specsavers on Queen Street is helping to ensure that life-limited children and their siblings receive Christmas gifts this year by collecting toys for Welsh children’s hospice, Tŷ Hafan.
Call for donations
Staff are calling for donations of new toys from customers and members of the community for the hospice to distribute to children and their siblings in the Cardiff area in the run up to Christmas.
'striving to support causes'
‘Christmas is all about sharing and goodwill, and what better way to recognise this than giving presents to those families in Cardiff who are going through an unimaginable time,’ says store director, James Deavall.
‘We’re always striving to support causes that have a positive impact on the communities in which we’re based, and Tŷ Hafan is a shining example of an organisation that does exactly that. Staff will visit families who benefit from their care, and the addition of being able to give a child and their brother or sister an extra gift is something we are proud to support.
‘We’ve previously collected hundreds of gifts each year from our generous customers, so want to call on them again, as well as members of the local community, to help us put smiles on the faces of those less fortunate children this Christmas.’
When donating to the store, please be sure that toys are new and still in their packaging. Donations can be suitable for infant children up to young adults that are 18 years of age. The closing date for all donations to the store is Saturday 10 December.
