Youngsters receive hi-vis vests from Specsavers

Specsavers in Hinckley has donated a number of high-visibility vests to St Mary’s Church of England School and the 12th St Mary’s Rainbows in a bid to improve children’s safety near roads this winter.

Abhijit Roy, store director, said: ‘We’re so pleased to donate hi-vis vests to both St Mary’s School and Rainbows. In total we have 200 vests to give away and are calling out to any other schools, nurseries or community groups to get in touch if they’d like a batch.’

The donation forms part of a national road safety initiative, Road Safety Week, which Specsavers co-sponsors. The UK’s flagship road safety event is organised by Brake and provides an opportunity to help raise awareness about the importance of protecting people on bikes and foot as well as raise funds for a worthwhile cause. If you’d like to request a donation of high-visibility vests, please pop into Specsavers at 18 Castle Street, Hinckley, LE10 1DB, or call 01455 233723.
