Former Pussycat Doll, dancer, singer, Masterchef champion and mum Kimberly Wyatt is on the prowl for stunning specs wearers in Cwmbran, as she issues a final call for entries for the Specsavers Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards.

Anti-bullying charity

By simply sharing a selfie by Sunday 3 July, glasses wearers in Cwmbran could be in with a chance of winning a trip to New York and £10,000.

Now in its 21st year, the competition raises valuable funds for anti-bullying charity Kidscape, which has totalled £300,000 to date.

Kimberly, 34, says: ‘We’ve seen some fabulous entries so far. The great thing about this competition is no matter what your age or personal style, it’s all about rocking your specs with pride.

‘I’ve worn glasses for years and it’s fun to be part of something that celebrates specs and the people who wear them. Plus it really is for a good cause, with Specsavers donating £1 to Kidscape for every eligible entry.’

Upload a selfie

Rhys Williams, store director at Specsavers in Cwmbran, says: ‘This is the last chance for people in Cwmbran to showcase their specs appeal to the whole country. We’re encouraging glasses wearers to upload a selfie at loveglasses.specsavers.co.uk today, it couldn’t be easier.’

The competition has five age categories – 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-59 and over 60s plus a Facebook favourite voted for by the public.

A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and will mingle with celebrities at a central London awards ceremony in October.

The money raised from entries will help Kidscape provide training, support and advice for children, parents, schools and those who may be affected by cases of bullying and abuse in the UK.

To be in with a chance of scooping the biggest accolade in the specs-wearing world, glasses wearers can enter the competition online at loveglasses.specsavers.co.uk.
