A budding young artist has received a bundle of prizes from Specsavers in Dudley after winning a colouring competition.

Child friendly opticians

The team hosted a variety of fun activities for children to get involved in last month including games, competitions and dressing up. Millie Parton was chosen as the winner of the colouring competition and was invited into the store to receive a hamper filled with arts and crafts goodies.

‘Visiting the opticians can be a little daunting for children who might not have had a sight test before, so we decided to hold a few activities for them to take part in while they were in store,’ said store director Gurdeep Dosanjh. ‘We had some fantastic entries to the competition but Millie’s entry really stood out and it was great to have her back in store to collect her prize. I’m sure she’ll be able to put it to good use over the summer holidays!’

Children’s sight tests take around 20 minutes and are carried out by specialist optometrists in a friendly and fun environment. With youngsters’ sight tests free on the NHS, glasses wearers can also receive a free pair of specs with under-16s’ NHS funding, and have a second pair free from Specsavers.
