The Preston team put its talented team firmly in the spotlight after topping off an award-laden 2016 with two more prestigious industry awards for its outstanding performance and people development.
The Friargate store was one of the big winners at the international opticians and audiologists national Awards for Excellence held in Birmingham, where it scooped both the Excellence in People Development and Overall Performance Award.
The awards, judged on company assessments and customer satisfaction surveys, recognise the very best achievements across the industry and top off an amazing year of award wins for the Preston team.
In the last few months, the team has also been named Opticians of the Year at the glittering Lancashire Evening Post (LEP) Health Hero Awards and scooped the Multiple Retailer of the Year prize at the packed Preston - It Smiles Better business awards.
The LEP Health Hero awards celebrated excellence in health care across the in the public, private and voluntary sectors while the ‘Smiles Better’ awards, organised by the Preston Business Improvement District (BID), invite the Preston public to celebrate their local retail and hospitality ‘heroes’.
Reflecting on the team’s success, Preston store director Chris Shore was full of praise for his ‘incredible’ team and loyal customers.
Chris said: ‘To win one, let alone even four awards, in a year is just an absolutely outstanding achievement.
‘We’ve known for a very long time that we have a truly special team here, but the cat’s officially out of the bag now.
‘To be recognised by our Specsavers peers up and down the country was amazing, however, knowing that these awards were based on feedback from our loyal customers, is really humbling.
‘We have a team of 70-plus amazing people, ranging from those that have been here for more than 25 years and have served generations of Preston families, to our brand new trainees who represent the very best of young local talent. That’s why our award for people development is extremely close to my heart and I’m very, very proud.
‘Lastly I’d like to say a huge thank you to our loyal customers. Without the community of Preston we certainly wouldn’t be where we are and we want to get even better.’
