Prestigious award for apprentice at Specsavers in Ashington
Specsavers in Ashington is celebrating success after an employee was awarded a Learner Achievement Award for Retail and Commercial Enterprise at the Northumberland County Council Awards.
Michael Dodds worked at the store while he completed his apprenticeship with Adult Learning Services and went on to gain full-time employment with the store.
Michael said: ‘I am really proud of this achievement. There were so many deserving people nominated and I am delighted that I was selected as the winner.
‘Specsavers have been really great at helping me and pushing me to continue with my studies when I was tired. Everyone in the store has been so helpful and always spared the time to help me if I had questions.
‘I would like to thank all of the team at Specsavers for their support and guidance. I am looking forward to this next step in my career and working with the team to make sure our store offers the best service possible to our customers.’
Carly Fitch, store manager at Specsavers in Ashington, said: ‘I am extremely impressed by Michael’s performance over the past year.
‘I look forward to offering him further development to expand his career opportunities into the future. He is a valued member of the team and has been an inspiration to his fellow employees.'
