Junior footballers in Bromley have presented West Wickham optical experts with a special gift following their sponsorship of an enthralling pre-season tournament.

Representatives from Club Langley JFC visited the team from Specsavers in West Wickham to present them with a signed commemorative shirt from the tournament, which attracted upwards of 2500 people, including footballing royalty, Rio Ferdinand.

The young footballers battled it out on the pitch at the event policed by Specsavers sponsored referees. Club Langley Hawks were the victors of the U7, U8 and U9 tournaments, Beckenham Town White triumphed in the U10 category, Holmesdale Youth were named champs of the U11s, Angel Islington FC clinched victory for the under 12s and Junior Red Sabres were the winners of the U13 tournament.

Lindsay May, store director at Specsavers in West Wickham, said: ‘We were thrilled to help make the Club Langley JFC tournament happen for all the kids involved. It’s wonderful to see so many of our young people active and passionate about sports.
