A dispensing optician at Specsavers in Porthcawl has raised £70 for the Welsh children’s hospice, Tŷ Hafan, by taking part in a charity race.
Rachel Morgan, 34, ran the Swansea Bay 10k to help raise money for the hospice, which was recently named Specsavers’ charity of the year for the mid and south Wales region.
The dispensing optician, who has worked as the John Street store since it opened in October 2015, completed the challenge in 50 minutes.
‘Perfect time to kickstart fundraising’
Claire Edwards, director at Specsavers in Porthcawl, said: ‘“With our store and 35 others across the region pledging to support Tŷ Hafan over the coming year, this was a perfect time for Rachel to kickstart fundraising.
‘The charity provides vital support for families going through what can only be described as an unimaginable time, and we’re extremely proud to get behind such a humbling cause. We’d like to congratulate Rachel for completing this fantastic race.’
