Staff at Specsavers in Porthcawl hosted a Big Fit event to encourage local residents to give contact lenses a try.
Contact lens assistance
Members of staff gave out goody bags and spoke to customers about which type of contact lenses are best for them.
A contact lens coordinator showed customers how to put lenses in and take them out correctly, making sure they fitted comfortably, and ensured that customers were confident handling them themselves.
Provided they had an up-to-date sight test prescription, customers were given the chance to take away one pair of monthly contact lenses, or five pairs of daily disposable lenses for a free trial.
Advanced lens technology
Teja Edwards, contact lens coordinator at Specsavers in Porthcawl, said: ‘It was great to welcome new and existing customers to the store for our Big Fit event. It was a good opportunity for the local community to see the wide range of optical services Specsavers in Porthcawl has to offer.
‘We can provide multifocal lenses, so customers needn’t feel their prescription is too complicated for contacts. And thanks to advanced technology and new materials, lenses are more comfortable than ever, so if you’ve tried them before and didn’t get on with them you may find that modern ones are much more enjoyable to wear.’
‘Specsavers offers customers the opportunity to try lenses before they buy, to make sure they are happy and confident wearing them.’
