Specsavers in Porthcawl held a pirate day in store with all the staff dressed to impress in their costumes.

Town take over

The town was overrun with pirates as part of the Porthcawl Summer Festival, and the Specsavers store was no exception.

Staff pulled out all the stops to join in the fun of the event, which saw a host of pirate themed activities in the town centre including an historical re-enactment from Pirates of Newport, a Caribbean folk singer and a steel drum band playing on the seafront.

On hand to help

During the event staff handed out leaflets of useful eye health information and answered any questions that people had.

Claire Edwards, director of Specsavers in Porthcawl, said: ‘It was great to see so many people joining in the fun at the festival and for our staff to get dressed up in the spirit of the event.

‘Community work is a key priority for us at Specsavers, and I hope to see many of the people we met at the event pay us a visit for any eye and ear health related queries they have.’
