Pink for Breast Cancer Care
Cheylesmore's Specsavers opticians are inviting customers to their pink-themed fundraising day for Breast Cancer Care on Wednesday 9 October.
As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the team at Specsavers, 129 Daventry Road, will be sporting pink wigs and will dressed in their finest pink gear.
Free glasses MOT
In return for donations, customers will also be able to take part in a raffle to win various prizes, sample some baked delights or have their specs MOT'd (cleaned and adjusted).
Lesley Campbell, store manager is in the pink: 'Everyone at the store wanted to get behind this as most of us know someone affected by breast cancer. While there is of course a serious message behind what we're doing, we hope that we'll also have some fun along the way so please come down and show your support.'
One in eight people will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime, and Breast Cancer Care is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to providing emotional and practical support for anyone affected. The charity campaigns for better support and care and promotes the importance of early detection, involving people with breast cancer in all that it does.
