£200 raised for Welsh cancer charity
Staff at Specsavers in Pembroke Dock have raised £200 for Velindre, the largest non–surgical cancer Hospital in Wales.
The team at the Dimond Street store spent their time selling raffle tickets for co-worker Lucy Swindlehurst’s sky dive challenge. The prize was to win a handmade hamper filled with lots of exciting and delicious goodies, which was won by June Hazelden from Monkton. Funds raised help Velindre provide radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other specialised anti–cancer treatments for over half the people of Wales.
Great staff effort
Store director Gary Owen, said ‘The team really came together to try and help Lucy get her fundraising off to a good start, and I’d like to thank the local community for their support in helping us to raise £200. Our customers may wish to keep an eye out for future activities and store fundraising initiatives in the coming weeks.’
