Paws-itively fantastic total raised for Guide Dogs
The Specsavers team in Long Eaton welcomed a special guest to the store who helped them raise £140 for Guide Dogs.
On Friday 10 October, a Guide Dog puppy and his handler visited Specsavers at 4-6 High Street, Long Eaton as part of Guide Dogs Week (4-12 October).
Staff also supported the campaign by dressing in bright colours, featuring the neon yellow of the iconic Guide Dogs harness.
Krishna Parmar, store director of Specsavers Long Eaton said: ‘It’s always a real pleasure to invite guide dogs and their handlers into the store. We hope that the puppy's visit will help raise awareness of how important it is to make it easier for blind and partially sighted people to enjoy the same freedom of movement that most of us may take for granted.’
All of the money raised has gone to Guide Dogs who help more partially sighted and blind people get out and about on their own terms. The charity also campaigns for the rights of people with visual impairment, educates the public about eyecare and funds eye disease research.
