Hucknall Specsavers invited a special guest in to store to help raise money for a great canine cause.

To celebrate Guide Dogs Week (4-12 October), Ritchie the Guide Dog visited the Specsavers store at 56 High Street, Hucknall, with Emma Bullin, a Guide Dogs Volunteer Schools Ambassador.

The team held a special bake sale and dressed in bright neon colours, while the store was decorated with bunting and balloons in support of the Stand Out for Guide Dogs campaign.

‘It was such a pleasure to have the Guide Dogs team visit us and we’re pleased to have raised almost £100 for the charity, said Janet Archer, store director of Specsavers Hucknall. ‘They do amazing work and we want to help raise awareness of how important it is to make it easier for blind and partially sighted people to enjoy the same freedom of movement that most of us may take for granted.’

All money raised will go to Guide Dogs who help blind and partially sighted people get out and about on their own terms. The charity also campaigns for the rights of people with visual impairment, educates the public about eyecare and funds research into eye disease.
