The Specsavers store located in the Park Centre, Belfast, held a family fun day to celebrate the bank holiday weekend and mark the launch of the new kids ranges, The Gruffalo and flexi frames.
The store also wanted to reinforce the important message of closely monitoring your child’s eye health. Jayne Martin, manager for the Park Centre store, says: ‘We would urge parents to keep a close eye on their children’s eyesight and recommend that children have their first eye examination at around three years old or as soon as they can match pictures or point at things. The earlier many common childhood vision problems are discovered, the better the chance of correcting them. ‘Around 80% of everything a child learns is through their vision, so even a minor problem with a child’s sight can mean they suffer huge setbacks in their development at school. We have such a huge selection for children and teens, that wearing glasses can now be ‘seen’ as being really cool.’
New Gruffalo range
The new kids Gruffalo range includes six frames inspired by the popular Julia Donaldson books. The new flexi frames are perfect for active children who might put their eyewear under extra pressure. Made from a special memory metal, the front and sides can be twisted and bent and they instantly spring back into shape, and this exciting kids range is now available in the Park Centre store.
Renowned for their family fun days, the Park Centre store had a face painter on site and handed out goodie bags containing plenty of special treats including discount vouchers for designer glasses to the first 100 visitors in store on the day.
