Two teams of local opticians are raising money for rare genetic disorders by donning their favourite denim clothing and taking part in Jeans for Genes Day in store on Friday 18 September.
Staff at the Specsavers stores in Otley and Ilkley are donating money to the charity in order to wear their jeans to work for the day.
Visitors to both stores will be able to enjoy a selection of homemade cakes in return for a small donation, which will go towards the care and support of children with genetic disorders.
A word from the director
Roger Copley, store director at Specsavers in Otley, said: ‘Jeans for Genes Day not only raises money for a very worthwhile cause; it heightens awareness of the charity too.
‘We hope that the event will be well supported by the local community to help us raise as much money as possible for children and their families who are affected by genetic disorders.’
