A Ripley opticians welcomed some furry friends into store for a fundraising and awareness event in aid of Guide Dogs.

Volunteers from the charity and their dogs visited the Specsavers store on Oxford Street to raise awareness by talking to customers about the charity’s work and handing out leaflets. They also collected funds in charity buckets, while Specsavers staff offered goodie bags as a thank you.

A word from the store director

‘It was a very successful day to raise the profile of Guide Dogs and the work they do in the local community,’ said store director, Kuldip Dosanjh. ‘Sight loss can be a limiting and distressing condition, and with the help and support of Guide Dogs, many people have found a new sense of freedom.

‘It’s a fantastic cause that we’re very proud to support. We’d like to thank all of those who came to the store on Saturday and kindly donated.’
