Morden eyecare experts are putting the focus on vision and visibility during a Road Safety Week initiative. The team from Specsavers in Morden will be fundraising for the road safety charity Brake during the annual awareness week, while also promoting road-awareness among pedestrians by distributing children’s high visibility vests in return for a £1 donation to the charity.
A word from the store director
Ray Hutchings, store director at Specsavers in Morden, said: ‘As the community’s optical specialists, we feel a responsibility to raise awareness of the importance of sight and visibility when using the roads. As well as renewing our call to drivers to come for regular screenings, we’re also calling on our young people to help us set an example for other pedestrians over the winter months by staying visible to road users.’

Specsavers is a co-sponsor of Road Safety Week, an initiative from the charity Brake, which runs from 17-23 November. High visibility vests will be available in store for children ages 7-11 while stocks last.
