The Mold store served up coffee and homemade cakes to raise £160 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Budding Mary Berrys from Specsavers on High Street put their best bake forward to take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – a national fundraising initiative held by Macmillan Cancer Support.
£20m raised by Macmillan
Last year the campaign raised more than £20m for the charity which provides medical, emotional, practical and financial support for those battling cancer, and pushes for a better cancer care system.
Specsavers store manager Katy Owen thanked the people of Mold who got behind the cause and came along to the store on the morning to show their support:
‘The team here practised their baking skills ahead of the event and enjoyed welcoming people into the store for cake and a coffee.
‘This was all about local people coming together to do their bit for the cause, and we got to drink coffee and eat cake, too. It was a win win for everyone.
What a difference the charity makes
‘Most of us know someone who has received help from Macmillan, and so we know what a difference the charity makes to the lives of those people.’
