Team hosts fundraising spec-tacular
Staff at Swindon Specsavers swapped their specs for aprons on Friday (13 November) as they showed their support for Children in Need, raising £147 for the charity.
The team served up an array of sweet treats throughout the day as they hosted a cake sale, as well as offering customers specs MOTs (cleaning and repairs) in return for a donation. Staff also made donations to the charity to wear their own clothes on the day.
‘Children in Need does some fantastic work in communities right across the UK, so we’re really proud to have supported them with our fundraising day,’ said David Grieves, store director. ‘The team baked up a storm on the day and we were thrilled to see lots of customers join us for some cake, raising £147 for the charity.’
Children in Need is the BBC’s UK corporate charity and every penny raised goes towards helping disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The charity also awards grants to projects across the country which support young people in achieving their full potential.
