Spook-tacular goings on raise cash for charity
The Market Harborough team acted the clown for charity on Halloween when they welcomed a number of daring circus acts to the store, as well as putting on spooky games to raise money for Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL).
Professional circus performers, from jugglers to stilt walkers, took to the streets of Market Harborough to entertain locals on Halloween and help raise £337.44 for the charity, as part of the store’s fun-filled fundraising event.
Barry Henning, store director, said: ‘We’ve gone all out to raise money for VASL. The charity is dedicated to improving neighbourhoods and lives in the district, so we’re really passionate about raising as much money as possible. Our circus day was brilliant and I’d urge those who enjoyed it to pop down this Saturday for more fun as we dress up as Minions to raise money again.’
Specsavers in Market Harborough will be holding a Minion themed fundraiser on Saturday 14 November to raise further funds for the charity.
VASL provides services and support for community groups, while building partnerships to meet community needs. The charity runs a number of projects, such as a social transport scheme, befriending the elderly and providing support for carers, as well as a separate project for young carers, throughout the region.
