The team at Hucknall is collecting non-perishable food for the Hucknall Engage Food Bank throughout November, December and January.
The store is calling out to locals to get involved by donating food to the project, which helps those in the area who have fallen on hard times. Shoppers can drop off tinned and jarred foods, as well as dried pasta, rice, soups and biscuits.
Janet Archer, store director, said: ‘We ran the collection last January and it was a huge success. Picking up just one extra tin in your weekly shop for the project will make a huge difference and offer a lifeline to those less fortunate.’
Anyone wanting to make a donation can take non-perishable food items to Specsavers at 56 High Street or ‘Under One Roof’ on Vine Terrace in the town.
Hucknall’s Engage Foodbank is a collaborative project run by Churches Together Hucknall, Linby and Papplewick (CTHLP) which has been serving the communities for more than 15 years.
