Seeing yellow for charity
The Market Harborough store has raised more than £630 for Voluntary Action South Leicestershire (VASL) through two colourful fundraising events.
In their most recent fun-filled event the team at the St Mary’s Place store swapped their usual Specsavers uniforms for Minion outfits. Parading around the town and handing out goody bags, the team caused quite a stir only a week after bringing the circus to town for another memorable fundraiser.
Barry Henning, store director, said: ‘We like to cause a stir and have some fun, especially when it’s for a good cause. The circus fundraiser was a massive hit so we had to follow with another stand-out event.’
The money raised will support VASL’s ongoing work with various community groups, as well as running projects for a social transport scheme, befriending the elderly and support for carers.
The Minion fundraising event coincides with the launch of a brand new range of Minion frames at the store, which are designed specifically for children and channel the mischievousness of these iconic characters.
