Specsavers in Ashington were seeing red in the lead up to Valentine’s Day as the store held a number of events in support of the British Heart Foundation.

The staff wore red outfits and made cakes for a red cake bake sale, held a colouring competition and a ‘Where’s Fred?’ sweepstake. The day of fun raised £54.57.

A word from the director
Darren Walker, store director said: ‘Our charity fundraising balance was nicely in the black after our day of Red Fun. We all enjoy these days with a difference and these amounts all add up throughout the year.’

Winner on the day
Lauren Stacey, aged 11, won the ‘Where's Fred’ sweepstake and was delighted with her first prize – a giant sweetie hamper.
