Specsavers team show off their fundraising total
Specsavers team raises £502 for Rainbows Children's Hospice

Specsavers in Coalville has raised more than £500 for Rainbows Children’s Hospice by hosting a Leicester City themed fun day, marking the team’s first match of the Premier League season.

The team at Specsavers welcomed customers to the store where they were treated to the delights of homemade cupcakes and shortbread. Specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) were also available in return for donations, while face painting was organised for younger visitors. But the big draw of the day was a raffle, which saw two families win tickets for a behind the scenes tour of Leicester City’s King Power Stadium.

‘We were really pleased to see so many people visit the store in support of Rainbows and Leicester City as they made their return to the Premier League,’ said Shailan Ruparelia, store director at Specsavers in Coalville. ‘Everybody really enjoyed the activities we organised and we raised a fantastic amount for the hospice.’

Claire Herrick, corporate sponsorship fundraiser at Rainbows, also visited the store’s fun day for the presentation of the total funds raised. Claire said: ‘We’re very grateful to the team at Coalville Specsavers. Their fundraising efforts will help us to continue our support of life-limited young people and their families.’

Rainbows Children’s Hospice opened its doors in 1994 and is the only hospice for life-limited children and young people in the East Midlands. Working to improve children’s quality of life, the dedicated team also supports families through their bereavements.
