Guernsey's Specsavers store is aiming to raise £1,000 for the Guernsey Blind Association (GBA) in a month of fundraising.

The store will donate £1 to the GBA for every eye test performed between Monday 8 September and Tuesday 7 October.

Store director Chris Goldsbrough says: ‘We held a month of fundraising for the GBA for the first time last year, raising £1,500, and it was such a success we decided to do it annually. The Guernsey Blind Association does fantastic work in the island such as providing resources to the blind and visually impaired to help them carry out everyday activities and maintain independence.

The money raised by Specsavers last year was spent on an iPad and a ReadEasy Move. This device takes a picture of the printed text and reads it aloud.
