Opticians puts local charities in the frame
Specsavers in Sutton Coldfield are looking for local causes to support for the next 12 months as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.
The store are asking local charities, sports teams, community groups, individuals or schools to nominate themselves for the fundraising support. Customers and visitors will then be asked to vote for a cause they would like the store to support, with the team pledging to raise at least £1,000 for the nominated charities.
This initiative was run successfully last year at the store, with support for four local causes; The Kelli Smith Appeal £560, Cherished £440, Friday Friends £320 and Splats Group £680.
Tim Goodhew, store director, said: ‘We decided to do things a little differently last year and gave our customers the chance to have a say in who we supported. The feedback has been really great and we’re delighted with the amounts raised for each of the four causes.
We’d appeal again for people to nominate a cause they feel deserves our support it could be for an individual who needs treatment for an illness, or to a local nursery group who would like to renovate its playground. If you know of a cause we’d be very grateful to hear from you.’
To nominate a local cause, please write to Specsavers at Unit 4, Red Rose Centre, Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, B72 1XX or call 0121 354 4143 for more information.
The closing date for nominations is Saturday 16 May 2015.
