Staff at Lichfield Specsavers have got on their bikes for Sport Relief, raising more than £80 for the charity.
The team swapped their specs for cycling shoes as they attempted to cycle the distance to London – equivalent to 107 miles. Using an exercise bike which was donated by Lichfield Golf and Country Club, the team was spurred on by customers as they raised £87 for the charity.
‘It was great to see the whole team get involved in our fundraising day and we’re so pleased to have raised some money for Sport Relief,’ said Praful Patel, store director. ‘The charity bike ride was a fantastic way to highlight the link between healthy lifestyles and healthy vision, while also raising some money for a wonderful charity.’
Sport Relief brings people together to get active, raise money and change lives. The money raised is spent by sister charity Comic Relief to tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice, both in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.
